Reminiscence exists not only within the frame of one’s mind but also through the strokes of paint and fragmented color. This distorted, cinematic sense is used to exhibit the nostalgic occurrences of simple, yet fragmented memories displayed throughout my life. An image emerges that the viewer can recognize but not necessarily place; almost tangible, inviting the viewer to shatter rationale. Through painting and mixed media, my work responds to the temporary and poignant moments and spaces that evoke feelings of nostalgia, longing, and memory. These scenes are exhibited in a way that establishes a context, interpretive to the audience but familiar to the mind.
